They started their family in 1950 when daughter Rebbie was born, followed by Jackie (1951), Tito (1953), Jermaine (1954), La Toya (1956), Marlon (1957, twin brother Brandon died within 24 hours after birth), Michael (1958 - 2009), Randy (1961) and Janet (1966).

The World's Most Popular Music Family & Pop Royalty

Brothers Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Michael and Marlon professionally debuted in 1969 as music group The Jackson 5. Considered “one of the biggest phenomenons in pop music during the early 1970s, The Jackson 5’s combination of extraordinary musical talent and choreography has earned the family the status of pop royalty in the music world and was later responsible for providing the launching pads of the solo careers of both MichaelJermaine and also Jackie.

The Jackson 5 were later known as The Jacksons when brothers Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Michael and Randy signed to CBS Records, while Jermaine stayed loyal to Motown and continued his solo career.

After the Jackson boys, the Jackson sisters launched their singing careers, starting with La Toya in 1980 and followed by Janet in 1982 and Rebbie in 1984.

The six brothers reunited in 1984 and released their biggest-selling album to date, Victory, that year followed by the Victory Tour, performing 55 concerts to an audience of 2 million and the tour sold what was then a record number of ticket sales.

After brothers Michael, Jermaine and Jackie, Marlon released his solo debut in 1987, and in that same year Randy released an album with a band called The Gypsys.

Adored by millions of fans the world over, The Jacksons forever changed the landscape of popular music. The Jackson 5 were ceremonially honored as inductees of the well-respected Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as the youngest group ever to receive that honor and they were inducted to the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999.

For over 50 years, the Jacksons have been performing on stage in front of crowds all over the world and been charting hits as a group and as solo artists.
In 2016, Tito joined his brothers and sisters and scored his first solo hit on the Billboard charts with his debut single “Get It Baby”, becoming the ninth and final Jackson family sibling to place a solo single on the charts.
